MI Legal Bulletin- Marital Status

The Governor has signed House Bill 4532 into law as Public Act 54 of 2017. Effective immediately, the marital status of male grantors and mortgagors is no longer a recording requirement. The marital status of male grantors and mortgagors, under the new Act, is necessary only for documents "executed and offered for record" prior to April 6, 2017.
